NewsDesk-UK is edited by Vincent Kelly who is a former editor of the Birmingam Post and associate editor of the Liverpool Echo.

The site aims to provide simple and useful services for journalists - at speed.

The Front Page is designed to provide rapid access to journalists' contacts as well as links to sites that give a broad coverage of today's news.
On a computer with a 33.6 modem connection the Front Page should load in just six seconds. The biggest of the extensive contacts lists takes seven seconds.

There are no log-ins or passwords to worry about and few graphics to slow things down.
The Front Page represents the needs at the sharp end of newsgathering and those contacts will be added to as we go along.

A Media Law Guide and other related articles are features of serious practical use for journalists.A major feature is the collection of about 1,500
